“The world is hugged by the faithful arms of volunteers.” –Terri Guillemets
Isn’t that an awesome image? The whole world being hugged by a group of some of the nicest, most caring people on the planet is such a cool thing to think about. And since 10/26 is National Make a Difference Day, we want to encourage you to join the countless others who have spent their free time making a difference in their communities around the world.
How to Make a Difference in New Mexico
You don’t need to venture far to make a difference! There are so many opportunities in our New Mexico community to help. Some organizations that you can volunteer at include:
- Roadrunner Food Bank. Roadrunner Food Bank has done so much to eliminate hunger in New Mexico, but they can always use an extra hand or two. There are volunteer opportunities in Albuquerque and Las Cruces.
- Albuquerque Youth Symphony. AYS inspires children of all ages to find a love of music. Extra help is always needed, especially at events and for fundraising efforts.
- American Red Cross. When disaster strikes, these are the people sending help and food into the most affected areas. The American Red Cross has volunteer opportunities all over the state that you can be a part of!
- United Way. The United Way is there to support our communities across New Mexico. They have volunteer opportunities that suit every type of person!
These are just some of the organizations that need help. Find one that speaks to you and inspires you to give back!
Sharing Our Story
It’s no secret that we love our community and will talk to anyone about how we got involved in giving back to New Mexico. If you would like to have a representative from MVD Express to speak at your school or business in order to inspire the spirit of giving, please contact us!
