We know you want to get back on the road as soon as possible after your license has been suspended. In order to drive legally, you’ll need to have your New Mexico driver’s license reinstated. When you come to MVD Express, we’ll walk you through the process step-by-step to help you get in, done and on your way as soon as possible!
No matter what the reason for suspension, there are a few steps that you must follow in order to have your license reinstated without incident:
- Wait for your suspension period to expire before attempting to reinstate your license. You will not able to reinstate your license before this date.
- Complete a driver improvement course approved by the Traffic Safety Bureau of the State Highway and Transportation Department. Bring proof of completion when you come in for reinstatement.
- Complete the driver’s license written exam and vision test. You’ll also need clearance papers from the court to prove that you’re eligible to have your license reinstated. Contact the court that suspended your license for more information.
- If your suspension was due to a DUI/DWI conviction, you’ll need to install an interlock in your vehicle and take other necessary steps to receive an interlock license in addition to the conditions above.
At MVD Express, we want to make sure you get your MVD needs taken care of in as little time as possible. Contact us for questions about the license reinstatement process.
