Teen drivers and their new licenses…

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you for your letter. I’ve reviewed all of your talking points and, well, I have a couple of things to say, too.

I really appreciate you teaching me how to drive. But honestly, this is all super new to me. I haven’t really had much experience behind the wheel yet and, well, I’m really nervous. It’s also really hard to concentrate on using my turn signal when I’m trying to pay attention to directions, street signs, traffic—and your helpful advice—all at the same time. I’m trying my best, I really am.

And as for that officer on I-40, can we not talk about that? I was so embarrassed!

If you tell me “you’re going to kill us” one more time, I might have to ask aunty if she’ll teach me to drive.
